Michael Douglas’ voice hovers over the piano music, and he creepily says: ‘I want to be everything to you Scott. I want to be father, brother, lover, best friend.’
Scott replies: ‘I’ll do whatever you want.’
He might have regretted saying that when Liberace tells his plastic surgeon to make Scott look just like him.

‘You make me feel so young!’ croaks Liberace as Scott regains consciousness.

Liberace’s insistence that Scott have extreme surgery to look like a young version of him meant that he developed an addiction to painkillers, and later harder drugs.
It signaled the end of the relationship, and this is covered in the film as Scott throws things at the wall and screams abuse about no longer having his own face.
There is also a bath scene, stills of which had been released before.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, both actors reveal filming the numerous sex scenes was always ‘awkward.’
‘The scene where I’m behind him and going at him, we did that in one take,” recalls Damon, laughing. ‘We do it. Cut. There’s a long pause. And then you just hear Steven [director Steven Soderbergh] go, “Well… I have no notes.”’
Douglas and co-star Damon previously said biopic Behind the Candelabra was almost scrapped after it was branded too explicit.
Douglas revealed that he found his inspiration for the role by channelling memories he had of meeting Liberace as a child though his father, actor Kirk Douglas, and that he also spent a great deal of time studying footage of the musician.
There’s a tremendous amount of clips and films that certainly give you a sense and idea’ of the spirit of Liberace, he said.
